1. Design Theory and methods: this thematic group carries out research and provides all aspects of the design process as a means to increasing our understanding of the field of design theory and methodology. It provides theoretical concepts for starting point for design research that aims to generate knowledge about designing under various conditions, and it focuses on the application of methods including the adaptation of existing methods as well as the development of new methods derived from theory.

Initial Paper Submission

  • Authors should prepare the paper according to the conference paper template provided here.
  • To facilitate the paper’s double-blind peer review process, authors should make efforts to ensure that information about the authors’ identities DO NOT APPEAR ANYWHERE in the text-body of the paper.

Final Paper Submission

  • For accepted paper, you should revise your paper addressing the reviewers’ comments and suggestions (check your notification email from [email protected]).
  • For accepted paper, you must submit your paper based on your designated deadline  (check your notification email from [email protected]).
  • You should submit your final paper here: https://bit.ly/36kgEnU Please note that we only accept word .doc or .dox format for the publication typesetting with a maximum size of 5 MB.
  • Editorial Note: If your institution’s library has a Turnitin or any plagiarism check designated software, we recommend checking your paper and asking them to run a similarity check. IMDES committee will systematically check all final submitted papers on plagiarism (including self-plagiarism) and, as a result, will refuse deficient papers for publication.

Regular: 1,750,000 IDR (125 USD)
Undergraduate student poster: 150,000 IDR (12 USD)

IMDES 2020 conference fees cover:

1.) Attendance of IMDES Virtual Conference on November 10 – 11, 2020
2.) Submission to the designated Proceeding (refer to imdes.umn.ac.id)

Payment Process:
For each Accepted Paper, one author must (1) register a paper, (2) pay the registration fee, (3) submit the payment confirmation form, and (4) virtually present the paper in the conference session where the paper is scheduled. A detailed program with the associated links for connecting to the virtual session rooms will be informed in a separated email before the event.
Once the registration payment is done, NO REFUND is available.

Please follow the instruction herein described:

1.) For all authors of paper(s), you are kindly requested to pay attention to specify the paper(s) ID and title (i.e.: 50 – Paper title) as it is mandatory for this process.
2.) After receiving a paper acceptance email from the IMDES committee, please proceed with the payment according to the specific account below. Please DO NOTE to double-check the account number and name.
3.) For participants who want to pay by Bank Wire Transfer, please send your payment as soon as possible as it takes some time to process the payment. Your payment should be received by your designated deadline (check your email). Bank Wire Transfer and other related fees have to be paid by the registrant. Failure to pay the required amount on this date may result in the exclusion of the paper(s) from the Conference Proceedings.
4.) After having completed the payment, fill in the designated Payment Confirmation Form at this link bit.ly/IMDES2020Registration. For your information, you are required to upload the payment receipt in this form.

Where do I submit my submission paper?

The submission system will be open by March 25, 2020 and you need to upload your full paper at https://easychair.org/cfp/IMDES2020 by September 15, 2020.

How and when do I know if my proposal has been accepted?

IMDES team will notify you about reviewer decisions by September 15, 2020.

How and when do I submit my full paper if it was accepted?

You must submit your full paper electronically no later than October 10, 2020.

How much is the registration fee and what does it include?

Your registration fee will include entrance to virtual conference, certificate, DOI, ISSN and e-book of conference proceedings.

Is there a registration discount?

How can I pay the registration fee?

The payment of registration fees can be made by credit card. In some cases, international bank transfers will be accepted. Please check our website for detail: https://imdes.umn.ac.id/

Are grants available?

Unfortunately, we currently don’t have any grant to offer at the moment. But we will notify all participants if we have available grant.

If my paper is accepted, do I have to present it at the conference?

Yes. Authors must be prepared to present their papers on the day of conference. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in removal of the paper(s) from the conference proceedings, program books, website and publications. Please note that the IMDES airtime policy will be enforced, which means that if you have multiple papers accepted, you can present a maximum of three papers.

May I submit papers which are under review somewhere else?

No. Submissions to the conference must be original work. Submissions should not have been published or accepted in a journal or conference proceedings, nor presented at another conference. Furthermore, submissions must not be concurrently under consideration for any publication or presentation elsewhere.

How do I withdraw my submission?

Please notify the IMDES team at [email protected] should you wish to withdraw your submission along with the reasoning.

Do I need visa to attend IMDES 2020?

You do not a visa to present online in the virtual conference.

When will my conference paper be published?

All proceedings or conference publications will be published 3 to 6 months after conference dates.

How can I get an official invitation letter for administration purposes?

Send an email to [email protected] with “Letter of Invitation” in the subject line. If possible, include the name of the paper you will present and the name of the theme of the presentation.
